Based in Paoli, Pennsylvania, Barmby Landscape & Design was established as a premiere design and build landscaping company, serving both residential and commercial customers in the Philadelphia area. We were founded to meet the growing need for skilled and professionally managed landscaping services. We want to change the perception that working with a contractor is a time-consuming and frustrating experience! We’re accountable for everything we do, and every job we complete must meet our strict standards of efficiency, quality and workmanship.

Jonathan Barmby – Founder and President

Jon began his career in landscaping in 1997, while working in a local retail garden center. Here, he discovered his passion for plants and found his true calling.

Soon, Jon moved on to work for Main Line Gardens. While working face-to-face with customers and landscaping companies, he gained a wealth of plant knowledge, including plant selection, plant care, proper installation and how to identify plant diseases.

After 5 years at Main Line Gardens, Jon became interested in combining his plant expertise with his creativity and eye for design. This led him to Terra Nova Landscape & Design. Over the next 6 years, Jon expanded his expertise to encompass project design, hardscaping, lighting, water features and water remediation. Jon’s work can be seen in hundreds of residential and commercial properties throughout Philadelphia and the Main Line.

In 2007, Jon founded Barmby Landscape & Design. As president of the company, Jon is involved with every aspect of every project, from sales, design and construction, to adding those final touches for a professional and artistic landscape.

Michael Caccavo – Crew Leader

Over the last 9 years, Mike has gained a wealth of knowledge in the landscaping industry. He has extensive experience with softscaping and hardscaping, and has been noted for his outstanding work at both Main Line Gardens and Terra Nova Landscape & Design.

Working with Jon Barmby for many years, Mike shares the same dedication to quality workmanship and demonstrates a very conscientious work ethic. As with all Barmby Landscape & Design team members, he treats his customers’ homes with the utmost care and respect.
